Fagioli recently executed a very challenging transport of a yacht from North Italy to Venice by means of trailers and barge. The yacht with the following dimensions (36 mt long, 8.40 wide and 4 mt high) was loaded onto 4 + 4 axle lines extendable trailers. The long convoy took two nights to perform about 100 km from manufacturing area (close to Brescia) to Cremona river port. Even though, the weight of the yacht was “only” 54 ton, the width and length of the precious item required some demanding actions to be taken.
Several road interventions were performed such as removal and repositioning of road signs. To allow the passage under the bridges in several cases the convoy was lowered almost at ground level. Once at Cremona river port the yacht was lifted and reloaded onto the trailers, after the reduction of the length of the convoy in order to execute a ro-ro operation onto Ticino barge. The yacht, then, was lowered inside the barge through its elevator system and pulled into final position by a prime mover, previously loaded. Once ready the barge left Cremona to arrive at Venice port where the yacht was unloaded and taken to its final destination.
